DATA COLLECTED TO OFFER OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
Third parties or publicly available sources. Better World uses automated software technology to source and download information from publicly available sources on the Internet, primarily regarding consumer goods and services and generally in the form of customer reviews posted to public forums and online chat rooms. These reviews are mostly entirely anonymous and the person who wrote it cannot be identified. Occasionally, however, such reviews may contain personally identifiable information that an individual has chosen to make public. Better World makes no attempt to identify these individuals.
Client Data. If your employer is a Better World client, we may have been provided with your personal data, such as name and email address, to enable us to create an account on your behalf.
The content hosted on the Better World websites is available to view registered clients and their employees and designated agents. The personal data described above is processed in order to make our website and our products and services available to authorised users, and to provide marketing communications as described in the section “How We Use Personal Data” section of this Privacy Notice.
3. OUR PURPOSES FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
OPERATING OUR BUSINESS
The information that Better World collects from publicly accessible sources and from our clients is aggregated and analysed for classification purposes, and statistical and sentiment analysis. We may also share redacted consumer reviews (see Section 2A, above, “How We Collect Your Data”) to our registered clients who are interested in finding out what consumers think about their products, but Better World does not share any usernames, pseudonyms or other personal data unless this information has been added to the body of the review. Better World also uses “data masking” technology to further pseudonymise review usernames.
As part of the Better World service offering, we may use our client Contact Data to send notifications in the form of ongoing updates to the information we provide our clients.
Better world may use the personal data that you provide us and which we collect from you to inform you about similar products and services which we provide, or which are offered by our third party partners. We may contact you by post, email, telephone, direct messaging, subject to your marketing preferences. We will not share your personal data with any third parties for their own marketing purposes unless you have provided your consent and you may opt out of receiving Better World marketing communications at any time.

6. DATA SECURITY & RETENTION
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. In some circumstances it is also possible to request that we transfer your personal data to a third party. Finally, if we are processing your personal data on the basis of consent that you have provided, you are free to withdraw this consent at any time.
Please contact us if you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above.
You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we could refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
WHAT WE MAY NEED FROM YOU
We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.
